Site Manager – Commercial Construction

Search Talent is partnering with an established Irish main contractor to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a high-profile commercial construction project in the heart of Dublin 2.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager who enjoys taking real ownership of delivery and wants to work on a technically demanding city-centre project with an experienced construction team.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of works on site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to an excellent standard.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, engineers, commercial team, design team and specialist subcontractors to drive the programme and maintain quality throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily construction activities on site.
  • Drive the construction programme and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, trades, labour and site logistics.
  • Manage sequencing of works within a busy city-centre environment.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
  • Maintain excellent health & safety standards across the project.
  • Chair and contribute to subcontractor and site coordination meetings.
  • Monitor progress and identify potential programme or delivery issues before they impact the project.
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams to resolve technical and buildability issues.
  • Manage quality inspections, snagging and close-out of works.
  • Maintain strong communication between the site team, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.
  • Support the Project Manager in the overall successful delivery of the project.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager, Senior Site Manager, Construction Manager or experienced Section Manager with a main building contractor.
  • Strong experience delivering commercial, office, hotel, healthcare, education or other large-scale building projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction sequencing and subcontractor management.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.
  • Ability to drive programme and maintain momentum on a demanding project.
  • Confident managing multiple trades and specialist subcontractors.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience working on constrained or city-centre projects would be particularly advantageous.
